Radiator fan slightly deformed

Asked by Nodo Jun 02, 2021 at 08:00 AM about the 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Mercedes W203 C230 with 2.5 M272 engine. Recently my radiator fan stopped working and I replaced it with a used fan (700$ new vs 50$ used was not a hard choice).
The thing that bothers me is that while rotating, the fan edge comes in and out for about 2-3 millimeters, maybe it is slightly deformed. I do not notice any vibrations from it.
I wanted to ask, can it cause a problem in the long run?

Maybe that is the way that it is. If it bothers you , you can you try swapping the fan with the shaft and bearing from the old assembly?
