how to open trunk

Sounds like the lock actuator could be stuck. I would check all your fuses and then I would see if you can remove the lock assembly or manual override it from the inside. See, if you can remove the back seats or put them down and crawl in the trunk itself and see what is going on.
Slide the metal key out of the remote. Stick key in trunk lock. Turn left and push in. That worked on 2002 clk 320

can i remove the lock and put a new one? i have the same problem it just stopped working. i can't open it with the remote i can't open it with the switch (near the gear shifter) can't open it manually all the fuses seem to be good and i am hopeless
Change the remote battery, then on the passenger side door use the key to unlock the door making sure you hold it in the unlock position until you hear all the locks unlock. That was a quick reset on older model Mercedes 1988-1995 it may still workin on the newer models. My mom has the same issue with her newer 2002. She claims that when she holds down the unlock button and then the trunk it opens for her. It's worth a try.
Thank you "wildwes50". You save my head from chopping.
I have a Meredes Benz CLK55 AMG and my trunk wont open with remote, key or dash control. And my convertible wont let up or down can anyone help me out with this?
Same thing happened to my car, I have a C class 2016 model, there's a button in the glove box, if it is flipped to lock then nothing will open the trunk, it's supposed to keep the trunk locked when you unlock the doors, however if you flip the switch to the right, the lock will function normally.

If you can get into the trunk through the back sets, the easiest way to open the trunk is to undo the two small bolts that hold the catch in place. They are easily accessible by prying open the 1" x 2" plastic flap on the inside of the trunk right near the floor, just under the catch assembly. Once you have the trunk open it will be much easier to troubleshoot the actual cause of the problem.
My question is I have a 2000 Mercedes Benz S430 class and neither the emergency key nor the emergency key work I would like to know how to get in to start my vehicle it's either a battery totally need to be changed out or a fuse that needs to be changed....... the doors do not open the trunk does not open so therefore the hood will not open I have a car I cannot get too into it all...........HELP ME!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!! I bought this car at auction for a 900 and it seems like that's the only problem I have been experiencing is the fuse things and Battery things electrical things of this vehicle

You can open the hood with a mechanical lever underneath the dash near the steering wheel. Once you are under the hood there's a terminal near the fuse box where you can connect up a battery to give the car power. Then you can go from there.
You can open the hood with a mechanical lever underneath the dash near the steering wheel. Once you are under the hood there's a terminal near the fuse box where you can connect up a battery to give the car power. Then you can go from there. This was given by Polarbreeze. He is exactly correct. What you need is 12 volts going to the hot lead that comes from the battery in the trunk. A battery charger with a small lead hooked to the hot lead and then the negative or black lead hooked to the block or frame so it grounded. Once you have little bit of 12 volt juice then the curcuit should be complete and the fob should unlock the trunk. You don't need enough juice to turn the car over, but enough to run that little electric motor the powers the vacuum pump in the trunk.
my ignition lock is stuck on my 2000 clk 320 will not turn

I had that once on my 2000 clk320. Turned out to be something about the led at the end of the key. Do you have 2 keys? Do they both have the same issue? Is the key battery good? Also try jiggling both the key and the steering wheel.
One stated option to open trunk was "never give up on using key"; spray in wd 40, spray again, and insert key (leg side points to ground) first wiggle in/out with plyers (this didn't work for me, key wouldn't insert all the way) take a wooden or small rubber hammer and tap key till it goes in leaving about 3/4 inch from leg (L part of key) , and turn counter clockwise. SUCCESS! Took me several hours to be successful ("when something doesn't work use a hammer", "when that doesn't work use a bigger hammer"), stored car over winter and ALL buttons/fob wouldn't open. Charging (my CLK 430 had battery in trunk, can charge under hood, next to fuse box), didn't work using fobs/toggles, and it seemed like fuse was blown. Fuse ok, I removed and replaced all fuses to be certain of good connection, pressed emergency button once I got in trunk and PRAISE BE . . . everything STARTED WORKING. BE PATIENT, DON'T DRILL HOLES IN TRUNK!!! mp hoping you get lucky
I discovered my wires were not connected back together under the console.to the manual open.. had car carpet put in and they didn’t connect all the wires ..the trunk opener..so couldn’t open with key or remote or manual on console..tacky might be a problem you missing..
