2003 MB CLK500 Coupe clicking sound

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2003 MB CLK500 Coupe just started having a clicking sound from under the steering wheel when the car is started. It repeats approx. once every five seconds for about thirty seconds, then stops. No apparent performance change is noted. If the climate system is on, the fan seems to lower when the click occurs.

Thanks,

Wouldnt that just be the 'Under dash' screw loose vibrating off of the other side??

Ben - I have the same problem with mine. It started recently; since then, my steering wheel will occasionally not angle down upon ignition. I have a super sharp mechanic... I'll have him take a look and let you know what he says. Aaron
