2000Malibu.Why when I release my foot off the gas pedal,it shut off?

I've got a 2000 Chevy Malibu.Just had my cam/crankshaft sensor position replace.It
drove for about a week and shut off,wouldn't crank.Took back to the shop&zit cranks,but
now when I release my foot off the gas pedal,it shut off.What could be the problem?

Could be the throttle position sensor. Sounds like it anyway.

sounds like the TPS to me. can't recall those having an idle control valve.
