In all 50 states if you sign a contract for used car with an "AS IS" statement in the contract it's final. The lemon law usually only pertains to new and certified pre owned cars. Unfortunately 1999 and 2000 model year malibus had a lot of electrical issues.

First, I don't know your finical rating, but I'd shop around for lower interest. If it is a personal loan due to the age of a car, there are lower rates. An as is car? That is way too bad. Ask around and see if there is a good mechanic that works on your year and model car that could find the issues. It may cost a lot to get it fixed, but at the same time, if you can lower the car payments you just may brake even there. My daughter bought a very nice 1988 vehicle for her son for H S graduation. Due to the year, she could not get a car loan and had to do a higher interest personal loan at 8.5%, not the 1.5 the credit union advertised. Good luck and as stated above, that year had issues. You might going to a Chevy dealer and see if they can fix it. They will tell you the problem and the cost before starting the work. There you are getti9ng the experience and any new modification in fixing the bugs.

When you buy "As Is" means Case Closed! But, if the dealer has any kind of Heart, and at 21.9% Interest Rate, Take it back to them. This happened to me and I took it back and the dealer swapped it out for another vehicle with No Addition Charges! If they say No, remind him of Bad Internet Reviews.... I will back you up from here! Good Luck !
