I have a Mercedes Benz E-320, year 2005.

Asked by Merz55 Aug 01, 2013 at 01:57 PM about the 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 320

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Since we had this heavy rains, I have this red warning display symbol of the battery coming up. But not all the time. Sometimes it disappears for a half a day and then its back up. I don't have a broken poly-V-belt and it seems, the battery is charging fine. And I have no problems with braking. What can I do other than going to visit a workshop? Thanks. Ursula

It might be that your drive belt is getting wet and slipping just enough to set the light. When it's raining does your steering feel a little funny /jerky as well? If so that could be your problem suggest checking your drive belt tensioner as well.
