Hi,, I had the same with my E 240 ,, it was from the sensor (oil sensor), after the replacement , nothing appeared.

nah dnt do the sensor, i have been a merc tech for the last 9 years, its just over full, there has to be about 3-5mm below the high mark on the stick. they're all like it. it'd only do it when its hot and/or going uphill. the sensor very rarly dies on the older ML's.

I'm considering that the oil level is measured correctly , and it's within the limits, in this case i can confirm to you that it's the oil sensor.

It should be fine. My ML's oil light will come on and then disappear after 5 mins and will come on again later. Never had a problem though.
