What type fuel can be used

I wanted to know what fuel can be used such as flexi fuel or others that may be less expensive and possbly more efficient than the 91 Octane.

always go with what the MFG recommends. if you go outside what they recommend and there is a problem, it wont be covered. The owners manual will tell you what you can use/recommened.

Yes. You definitely can't use flex-fuel with this unless it was specifically described as a flex-fuel engine -- E85 ethanol or flex-fuel requires major modifications to the engine and fuel delivery system to function properly without damage. Nothing but the 91 or 93 octane for this baby, unfortunately.

You can often skimp on octane as long as you stick with a Tier one gas like shell, chevron, etc. in a Mercedes. However, when you start going to Flex fuels like the E85 - you can pretty much guarantee some problems later on.
