2002 ML320

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The rear black panels adjacent to the trunk and the back passenger windows is peeling off...as is the rubber around the windows.  Can this be repaired and/or replaced?  Any suggestions as to how to fix this inexpensively?

Hmmm...let me rephrase my question. There are 2 black panels on either side of the trunk and by the 2 passenger windows. The black film is curling up and peeling off- probably the AZ heat! I've been told that this is a common problem. Any ideas of how to fix it? Inexpensively?

You might be able to use some 3M Automotive Trim Tape, available at most auto parts stores, to fix this. The stuff is what's used to hold badges, etc., on vehicles and is almost indestructible. That would be my first step.
