SUV shuts off while driving help

Asked by dardar753 Nov 26, 2016 at 10:09 AM about the 2002 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML 500 4MATIC

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was about a mile or so away from home when all of a sudden the battery light comes on, I try to turn the corner and I realized the power steering is gone, then the radio stops working, the head lights turn off and many lights come on, on the dash. (before this Check engine light was not on and i have my vehicle looked at regularly)
As soon as i stop and turn the key completely off I try to turn the car back and it wouldn't. I hear fluid sounds as i get out the car and see fluid on the ground ( my vehicle did not leak right before this). I wait about 30 minutes or so and the vehicle turns back on but seems like it's dying with no power.
Help!!! I don't know what is going on!!!

I would advise you open the hood and check the serpentine belt first. having so many issues so quickly on multiple systems, the serpentine belt would control your alternator, power steering, etc, and could cause all of the above. Check that and give an update. We at DRT Inc are happy to help.
