Bluetec diesel won't run over 30 seconds then shuts down...?

Help. Please, help. I purchased a 2009 Mercedes ML350 (diesel) AWD SUV from a family member. They were told the motor was locked up... It wasn't and turned easily when we turned manually. The starter was bad so it was replaced. The car immediately cranked after replacing start but will not crank but will shut off within 30 seconds or when you press the accelerator. Help.

I would check the fuel pressure, pumps and fuel filter.
