problems with engine leaks

There is a very wide range of possibilities here, Phil. First you need to determine what the leak is leaking ... oil, power steering fluid, antifreeze, brake fluid, transmission oil, windshield wiper fluid ... it could be condensed water from the AC or exhaust ... Some of these fluids indicate life threatening issues (for the car, I mean .. well ... and possibly you!), others require simple fixes. Some could indicate either ... Once you know what's leaking you can begin to check some of the typical causes of such leaks. First you need to know what's leaking... Good luck
To be more specific, the head gaskets leaking engine oil. I am told this is quite common for this model. Thanks.

The front timing chain covers on the heads leak, much like the six cylinder engines(the V-12 is two sixes spliced together, double the horsepower, but twice the parts). Pray to God its something on the bottom like a oil level sender of the lower oil pan is leaking.Replacing valve cover gaskets are a huge job(taking out the intake manifold) and timing chain covers are even worse
Once I had my 560sl leaked right after oil change in a regular place. Took it to my Mercedes mechanic. He took out the oil filter, put a new gasket and put it back. It stopped the leak. Garages usually employ high school drop outs for oil change. They don't know that the mercedes oil filter is little bit complicated.
