Don't do it Mercedes rips you off on everything, Top motor $3,000 then ABC $2,800 and the car only has 60,000 miles plus a broken plastic part the size of a roll of quarters $325. Mercedes is a rip off and Mercedes never returns emails or calls.
Our experiences will vary from yours. I own many high mileage Mercedes, every experience is vastly different, depending on how well the prior owner took care of it. Just like a new wife that used to be someone else's wife, quality will vary depending on prior pampering, or not.
I've got a 2004 SL500 and it currently has around 75,000 miles on it, and I've had nothing but very expensive problems. You don't even have the option to cut corners because u HAVE to use Mercedes dealers and mechanics to do ANYTHING! They're notorious for suspension problems, and every little piece of expensive hardware can b replaced and u can count on each piece that makes up a system (like suspension) will need fixing. It's never a simple solution.its an ongoing nightmare and this isn't a 'rare' issue with an unlucky car, this is par for the course. What's rare are the ones that DONT cost u thousands of dollars every few months. Check out all of the Mercedes internet boards and you'll get an idea of what u get with one of these cars. If you're very rich with more money than u can spend, then these issues may not matter. If ur splurging to get one, it'!! b the biggest mistake you'll ever make. With all of this aside, you'!! LOVE the ride while it lasts. Very fun to drive, very fast and that steering wheel lets you make turns that other cars couldn’t make. It's just ashamed that a car company making such a great car doesn't make it to last very long.
