Vibration

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I replaced the engine mounts due to a vibration when we found the left side was broken. After the mounts were replaced the vibration continues. It was suggested to me that the torque convertor could be the issue as it seems to be more obvious when shifting. Trans function fine. Engine running in "P" and increase the rpm's and vibration persists.

Yes, I would check the torque converter bolts. I bet it vibrates at your feet, and threw the dash.
research has shown that the MB SL500 uses a 722.9 transmission, that has a history of early failure. Is this true? what is a balance shaft?
The balance shaft is in the engine. Exactly what it is I am not sure. But in research I am finding that there is a problem with the balance shaft. From what I gather, it has to do with the valve train. So I would suggest getting this into a shop who knows Mercedes-Benz.
