Will disconnecting the Speed Control Actuator prevent acceleration without pushing on the gas pedal?

1989 Toyota Camry LE V6.  Pulling into a parking space my car suddenly
accelerated to full speed, brakes would not hold it, ran into a tree,  still
running fast, put it in reverse, backed across parking lot and hit another car.  
The car then stopped going fast and went back to idle speed..  I was going
very slow, did not hit accelerator just started going fast on it own.  If I
disconnect the Cruise Control (Speed Control Actuator) will that prevent this
from ever happening again.

I think you should have this issue evaluated by a competent mechanic. Huge safety issue here. Good luck.

I had a Toyota Dealer look at it and they could not find anything wrong. My wife will not drive it anymore until I can tell her it won;'t happen again so I was wondering If I disconnect the Cruise Control Actuator will that prevent this from ever happening again. I was looking it over and it seems to me the only was that the this could happen is if the SCA had a bleep and pulled on the acceleration cable, so if I just disconnect it then it shouldn't happen. What do you think???

Why would you want to repair such an old car that is probably a complete wreck?

Is it possible that the floor mat has moved and is hung up and catching the gas pedal? DC the Cruise Control???....Cannot comment.
