First, there are other parts to the charging system besides the alternator (like the fuse or belt). Second, just because the alternator is new does not mean it works (nfortunately). Many auto parts stores have charging system testers that will test the alternator while it's on the vehicle, for free. Have the system tested and go from there.

Thnxs it an 89 so i just just hope im not going to be chasing wires car is mint but electric problems im lost thnxs again

who installed the new alternator? what were the symptoms before you replaced it? how long does a battery last?

It was all the original parts, the timing belt went , all belts snapped . A freind who is a mechanic ,put in new alt. New starter , all belts He did it in my driveway, could the alt. have been defective? How do I know if alt. Is bad. Thnxs
i would double check the wiring, make sure nothing is loose or not attached.
