Is it possible to combine 1987 with 1991?
I have 2 Camry's I bought used. Best cars I ever owned economicly. Both have minor problems, but not the same problems. Same engine, & transmission, 1991 leaks oil & has more milage than 1987. My question is. Is it possible to take the transmission, plugs, & other electrical parts I put on 1991 DX, & put them on the 1987 LE, that has electrical problems, but looks better, & no engine leaks. Neither one have AC.

Why, biggest problem is 87 starts off toggle switch, I think connected to starter, someone bi-passed ignition, but ignition switch has to be turned on for toggle switch to work, the only plus is, this car locks up & 91 that starts with a key in ignition does not lock up. I wish I could figure how to send a picture. Somewhat car savy red-headed ole lady
from what your saying someone put a puch button start in, and you want a normal ignition system, correct? if so why not just have a dealership, shop, or car savy friend replace the electrical parts with the stock ones?
