My car keeps trying to start even without keeps in it. I unhooked the battery. What do you people think is wrong?

The starter solenoid. The copper contacts are sticking together. Try to hit the starter with a hammer or something to separate the contacts. This can be fixed with new contacts (ebay) . Good thing you disconnected the battery - otherwise your starter would burn up.
