Two things. The bolt that controls the drain (aka the oil pan plug and its gasket may need replaced), two the gasket for the oil pan is faulty. Which gaskets did you have replaced to stop the original oil leak? Was it further up in the engine. If I have said this once, I have said it a thousand times, German cars are great.. TO LEASE.. WITH A WARRANTY... OR AS A ONE OWNER (as I can attest to my 2012 Benz E350). But a used german can, and especially a used or high mileage one, DUMP IT as soon as you can. Ever heard the expression Money Pit? The X5 is plagued with repair nightmares (Having owned a 2001 X5 in 2003.. I will never own another BMW). Best of luck

All I can see from your receipt is that the oil filter gasket was changed. Ensure that the oil filter is affixed TIGHT. Also, clean up the oil pan when the car is COLD. Jack it up and start it, watch to see where the leaking oil is coming from. Is their oil spots on your driveway or garage floor after this repair. My bet is the oil pan seal, or the plug/gasket are bad. This mechanic should fix this a NO CHARGE for you since you took it in to have the oil leak repaired.

See the last line? "Engine has a MAJOR oil leak coming from the engine compartment". Call them and ask the EXACTLY where the leak is coming from. That could mean anything! Sounds like they are giving you the run around.
