my battery died, when i replaced it the radio came back on safe mode. i don't have the owner's manual since i bought the car used.

Unfortunately the only way to retrieve, or get a new code, is to go to the dealership and have them reset the system. It's a security feature (a stupid one) so trying to figure it out is pretty much impossible.
