I'm not sure but sensor voltages on newer cars is 5 volts, use to be 8 volts, but no longer 12 volts like before computerized engine management systems. If there is a problem with oil pressure, install a mechanical gauge or just replace the sensor. That's probably what's wrong if engine is not clicking/knocking from lack of oil pressure. Check oil level first. Dirty oil filter?

The "Low oil pressure" warning on my Jetta GTI comes on at what seems like random times. The oil level is fine and clean. Trying to replace the oil pressure sensor.

Have reduced oil level back to the correct level after overfilling,engine managment light is still on will this go out or do i have to get it plugged into a diagnostic machine?
