Ok.. So, Still not getting heat in my 91 Jetta. Heater core is good, flushed it out, all thed lines in the engine compartment are hot and circulating great, new water pump and thermostat is working. Vacuum lines have good air flow. Thinking maybe the air filter box flap may not be working correctly.. Any ideas?

I have the VW Manual with all the diagrams and trouble shooting but feel I'm missing something simple

Heater control valve...cable connected between it and the slide control on the dash. Manually move the valve in the engine bay and verify hoses going through the firewall are getting warm. If not, then you may still have air in the core and a problem with the valve itself.
