Dont know what's wrong with my car

Asked by Kota Dec 19, 2018 at 02:39 AM about the 1997 Volkswagen Jetta GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On 12/17/18:
I would get into my car to start it and when I turned the
ignition it would start but then bog down and want to die
immediately. Then when I tried it again it would start up just
fine.
Then when driving, I would shift into second gear and it
would bog down and want to die but I would immediately
take it out of gear when it did that and it would be fine. It
also only did this randomly, not every time. And once I
would take it out and put it back into second it would drive
fine.

Then today it was doing it all more than usual. And then it
started bogging down and wanting to die again when I
would put into first as well as second. Then finally when I
parked it for a hour and tried to start it again, it started for a
sec, then bogged down and died. I tried to start it again and
it just kept turning over and would not start at all. Can
someone help me figure it out?
