is the ecu failing

son hooked up jumper cables wrong for a few seconds then got it started. Now oil light blinks, check engine light on, tachomerter stop working transmission is in limp mode car starts and runs.

Lucky the Batt didn't blowup. It sounds like the computer is cooked in the car. Get to a dealer.sorry but not much you can do unless you can do the work yourself $$$$.. Never let a boy do a mans job. Exspensiv lesson to learn.

Check all power box FUSES replace any blown. Then have the vehicle scanned for codes write them down... and CLEAR ALL codes.. If the PCM vehicles computer was Ruined the vehicle would NOT start.

Your right and Iam sorryi may have jumped the gun. I asked 2 auto guys and they agree with you about the fuses but added that if the main fuse didn't blow to protected the computer that may be Y it won't shift out of low.
