1998 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 GLS auto loosing power when accelerating to much but just like 2 sec then power back then loose power ect

Went of road bent my tie rod , replaced
whole rack n pinion runs smoothly when in
neutral or park but when I'm in drive I
accelerate loose power accelerate loose
power ect transmission shifts great just
having continued power when accelerating
problem on my 1998 VW Jetta 2.0 GLS
automatic any know what it could be?

well you can try getting the codes red from a vw/audi specialist shop, or grab a rosstech harness and a laptop and scan it your self. But this sounds to me like a bad ground or power feed. check all the ground cables and battery terminals as well as alternator and starter wires to be sure its all tight.
