Car doesnt move and grinds in any gear
So I know I'll get called out for being a dumb teen
and I take full responsibility but please help me
out. Just a few days ago I was at a stop sign and I
chose it would be a good idea to burn out because
I had some friends with me. What ended up
happening is as soon as I let the clutch out all I
could hear was grinding and my car wouldn't move
an inch. My first thought was I ended the life of the
transmission in my 2000 Jetta 2.8l glx but after
reading and doing a few tests with my car I'm
starting to think otherwise. The car won't move in
any gear and will make a loud grinding when letting
out the clutch but the grinding stops when I put the
clutch back in. The reason I'm second guessing my
problem is because when I put the car on stands
and tried to let the clutch out in first, the driver side
wheel would move but the passenger side wheel
won't budge. When further testing the passenger
wheel I found that the grinding comes from that
side of the car and I feel grinding if I attempted the
turn the passenger wheel. So... what do you guys
think? Do I replace my transmission or my
passenger side axle?
