Driver's side car door now suddenly squeaks LOUDLY when it is opened.

My '01 Jetta received a realignment + new tires installed yesterday at Sears Auto.  Suddenly now, when I
open the car door (driver's) there is a horrible squeaking/grating noise.  Could it have been something
Sears Auto did during the realignment or installation of the new tires?  

There was absolutely no such sound when I dropped off the car, now suddenly, after the realignment
and tire installation, there is.  Any info to shed light on the matter would be helpful and if there would
be any connection between the sudden change re: the car door and Sears' work.  Thanks!

Most likely co-incidence but it is possible some foreign object has got into the door hinge or most likely the door check strap orifice. Open the door fully and check both hinges and the check strap, lubricate each one at a time to see if this illiminates the noise.

you are kidding right?As a professional mechanic that's up there with ,I had my oil changed and now my ashtray squeaks it did not squeak before.Lube up the door wind check mechanism, stop blaming,although you did take it to Sears!

What's the problem?Click and Clack unable to answer this one for you?If it was that upsetting for you ,then maybe you should have taken your car back to the scene of the crime.Find a proper place to take your VW for repairs,cause Sears ain't it.If they have anybody in the service area old enough to shave I would be surprised.You take a nice car to a slap dash hack place then have the nut to Complain?Sorry you got exactly what you paid for.
