2001 jetta turned off while driving and won't start

My 2001 2.0 mk4 vw jetta turned off while I
was driving about 50 mph had to pull over
and load it on a trailer and take it
home,now it will crank but won't start,I left
it on a charger all night and it started then
cut off after awhile. I checked for spark and
I can hear the fuel pump pumping checked
the crank position sensor but idk how to
tell if its bad,idk what to do someone
please help

This is a scary scenerio.I would rather you did not drive the car.it is like an x wife. Nononono no..flat bed to shop
