2001 Jetta vr6 shuts off
My 2001 Volkswagen Jetta vr6 starts but it shuts off
right away it has gas in it and the battery is not
dead it was working fine yesterday afternoon but all
of a sudden it wouldn't start.

Try changing the ignition switch. My 94 would shut off while driving. Changed that and have had no problems since.
Well as long as u are using the chipped key and not the spare it sounds like its the ignition switch no reading the chip my car starts then shuts of immediatly unless it has chipped key hope this info was helpful
