Maybe the economy was causing "everyone" to be selling their extra vehicles... a la Dave Ramsey? You wrote in '08, do u (still?) own one? I'm selling my '98 jetta but it isn't a vr6... I thought vr6s are valued higher because they have a timing chain instead of a belt..? I'm not sure if anything is wrong with them.

my 95 vr6 Wolfsburg Passat is a beast! id never sell it.However vws in the 90-2005 year range seem to have electrical issues and tend to be a headache to deal with. and parts and labor on them is ridiculous if you don't want to do the work yourself. still there totally worth it,theres nothing like the growl or a vr6!
