2001 Jetta 1.8T Check engine light. wrong Diagnoses
Please help with my problem. I have taken to VW dealer repeatedly but they never diagnose correctly. I have had 3 mass air sensors, a thermostat, temperature sensor, the computer software updated and a catalytic converter put on the car but the light comes back on. Sometimes within a few days but usually a few weeks. I asked to have the car checked for a leak in the air intake system somewhere between the filter and the engine but they did not find a leak. The mechanic said he did find a "ghost code" of a leak but I am guessing that is a guess?!?! I no longer have ANY confidence in the dealer. The problem does seem to be moisture related as the light seems to come on during rainy days and once simply pulling out of a wet wash bay?!? Is this possible? PLEASE! there must be knowledgeable VW mechanic out there somewhere!!
