Carnot charging

So I have a 2002 volkswagen Jetta diesel and I’ve
been having some problems with keeping charged .
I checked with autozone and they said that my car
was running fully on my battery that the alternator
wasn’t working so I replaced the alternator with a
brand new one and replaced my battery because it
had gone bad . The next day the battery light
comes on and we decide to go check it again, turns
out that the battery was bad again and it still wasn’t
running the alternator . Now when we try to turn the
car on it’ll flash all my lights and open the trunk . It
won’t even crank up fully .
