2.0 won't start after new coil pack

I relpaced my coilpack and the car ran but the 6 pin connector kept coming out. I got one froma a salvage yard and spliced it in but I accidently reversed pin 1 and pin 6. I tried to start the car but immediately realized my mistake. I corrected the wiring but now it wont start. What damage coud I have done by switching the wires?

Pins 1 and 6 are if my memory serves me here are power and ground,obviously the first step is to check all the fuses in the fuse panel that have the check engine symbol on them,there should be three or four of them,good probability that one has popped,as I do not have any technical information in front of me today,I will have to check the wiring diagrams to see which fuse it is exactly.
Thank you for responding. I did check all the fuses with an engine symbol on them but none popped. I dont think it could have hurt the coil pack itself but I don;t know for sure. Could it have affected the engine computer
There are also three fuses on top of the battery as well as several fuse strips it's about the size of a pack of cigarettes,flip up the plastic cover and make sure that you have continuity through all of those fuses as well.
Check all the fuses on the fuse box. But it varies depending on the car's extras. In my case the fuse for the coil and injectors is located in a box besides the brake pump. In this box there is a relay also that supplies the coil also.

Thanks for your help Hector and Garageman. I fainally got around to checking all the fuses and found number 37 burnt. The chat says 37 is for the radio but it was 20 amps. Thats just VW I guess!!! Thanks again, Tom
