Transmission mount sounds

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a loose transmission mount that is
causing very heavy suspension type
noises, (or
least that's what I'm being told) the car
creaks and clunks loudly when slowly
turning. Suspension was checked, no
problem found. Could a loose tranny
mount cause these sounds ?

With it being close to the holiday everyone was booked but a mechanic said that he'd lift it to just take a quick look. Since the symptoms I gave him pointed to suspension that's all he checked. It's strange because I can feeling the knocking through my feet. Hoping it's not a CV joint.
To determin if its a cv joint you can do this while the car is on the ground. Just reach in and grab the axle and if it moves more then a 1/4 inch or moves up and down then its an axle. Other signs of it being an axel is turn your steering in one direction and then drive slowly do the same for the other direction. If one side makes the vibration that side is the bad axel. Other things can be the mount as said other things can be tie rods or a ball joint but i would lean more towards a tie rod or axle myself. The axel mounts will go bad but if its slaping about it can damage the trany or axles. they ussaly have the rubber fail by aluminum corrosion causing the rubber to split and crack. *oh and to check a tie rod same thing applys grab it and if its moves loosly or jiggles its bad and causing the issue.*
I have replaced transmission mount 3 times in 1 year. When it pops it drops trans on to axle making a horrible noise.
