Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Due to debris damaging pan, it was removed for maintenance and repair.  After replacing it and gasket and filling fluid, started vehicle and could not put into any gear.  It is not the shifter, it works, just putting into each gear, no action.

did the work myself in my mom's garage. Anyway, does it need to be reset by a computer, if so is the a mobile repair unit that has the equipment to do the reset?

if the oil has debris and you changed the oil, and no gear is functioning when D or any gear, the transmission is damaged. it needs to be replaced or repaired completely, an overhaul is needed. when you took the oil out the damaged disk lost their ability to grip, to each other. they were damaged before that is the cause of the debris. sorry but no quick repair if this is your case.
