can I put a TDI diesel engine in a 2006 Jetta that was previously a gasoline engine

I am purchasing a salvaged 2006 VW Jetta that has blown engine. I am curious to know if I can replace the blown gasoline engine with a VW TDI diesel engine

Frankly your better off to replace the gas engine witha gas engine, sell it and buy a diesel powered V.W. Its cheaper, less time consuming and more reliable than trying to switch them around.
