does anyone know about vw bettles

I have a 1998  vw beetle , every time I go to start it alarm goes off , ever since the last
time I've runned it, it's been sitting but has been runned almost daily , any tips

hello, do you use the key or the remote to unlock? usually this problem comes from the door lock module it doesn't recognise when the door has been unlocked or opened. if your car has a hey hole in the passenger's side try opening from there and if it works fine your drivers lock is failing. you can also read the codes from the comfort module to see if there are codes saved on the memory.
