engine noise 1999 Chevy Tahoe

well maintained, oil changed every 3k miles, 125K miles on vehicle. Last week
started sounding like a diesel engine when I accelerate  or idle at a stoplight.
Any ideas?

Could be bad gas . Make sure you didn’t get some gas with water in it. Good luck.
