how to access emergency cable release on 2002 vw beetle ( has no manual lock access)

Hi, I am in Australia and I have recently purchased a 2002 VW Beetle .  It has no manual
access lock to the boot for emergency release.  The door release and the remote do not
work.

well if you can get into the back try removing the panel and manually opening the latch lock. Its probably stuck or poped off.
