2002 VW Beetle overheating

It rode good for 3 mths after purchase then began to overheat. What's a cylinder pressure test?
What Tom is getting at is you may have a blown head gasket. If you do a compression test on the cylinders, and there are 1 or 2 low cylinders in compression, this would be an indication of a blown head gasket.

The same thing happens to me every couple days unless I top it off with coolant. I know mine is leaking at some points and it doesn’t seem like oil. After having my car looked at by multiple people was told I have a corroded hose and a fan which could be why I loose coolant and overheat quickly. I don’t know if you’ve already looked into these things but that’s my current issue with my 02 beetle!
