Rattling noise

Asked by DABens Jan 26, 2011 at 09:18 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Tracker 2-Door Soft Top 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For several months, my tracker makes a rattling noise when driven. I think it started after I had tires replaced. It seems to occur when the wheels roll over uneven road surfaces. I think something needs lubrication but the local Chevy shop told me there is nothing to grease on the vehicle. Is this true?

IT MAY BE THE HEAT SHIELDS FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THAT WAS THE PROBLEM ON MINE.

if its coming more from the side of the vehicle going over uneven roads it could be your torsion bar mounts
