Car shakes and burnt smell, any general ideas of what might be the cause of this?

Have you checked your fluid levels "full hot" on the coolant, oil nice honey color and not over the top. transmission fluid "in the zone" with the motor runnin'...the belt or belts should not be smokin' a worn tensioner bearing can cause this to happen....aside from coolant bake (kinda smells like popcorn) going to go with tensioner bearing and subsequent misalignment of your accessories belt~
