can I reset my ouitside temperature sensor 2000 Passat? Its reading about 30º to 40º warm

It was working well until about 3 wks ago. now its reading 30º to 40º warmer than the actual temperature.

you can try unplugging the battery for 15-20 minutes should reset the cars systems.!! be sure you got the radio code first tho!!!
