2003 vw passat w8 interior front door latch

The interior front passenger  door handle on
a 2003 volkswagon passat would not open
and when tried the second time something
snapped and now will not work. What
happened and how to fix it.

Im not sure if you've figured out this problem yet, but Ive had this problem three times now - once on the passenger door and twice on the driver. Its the interior door cable that stretches out from usage and shreds apart. Looks like ill just have to keep replacing them unfortunately.
