Turn off engine oil pressure light comes on

Have it TOWED back to whomever replaced the pressure sensor/switch, and if its not a jiffy lube or one of those express places, have them run a diagnostic. Yes, its going to cost $90- $100. But price an engine out on that VW... $2500-$3000? Im just guessing, but if you have had those parts fixed it has to be sensor or a glitch. Either way, its not something I would recommend you drive the car, and "see what happens". Best of luck !

The problem with this is we have already gotten this far it is ample oil in the vehicle so I ha e an appointment with them but they have looked and said it should not be coming on and o could drive it I just want to the noise off until then

It was doing it before- and you thought this might fix it? So, if you were driving it with the oil light on, I guess you were used to that, and a tow is unnecessary at this point- taking it back to the guys who did the oil change is meaningless because you told them what to do, you did not ASK them for a diagnosis- or did you? what did they say? that the oil pump is good? how do they know? all of this sounds suspicious to me- maybe if you told us what the original problem was- I have to play Sherlock here to figure out what you are saying- anyway if I get your drift, the oil light came on, right? and you replaced the switch- better to find out if the engine is ok- it could just be the age of the engine- good luck

Get yourself and OBDII reader off Amazon for $15 and reset the codes when the light comes on. The only problem with this is that when there is a REAL issue, you will not know it, and it could be a huge expense. If a local shop cannot fix something or guarantee their work then it is time to escalate things, take it to the dealer. They will know exactly how to fix it.
