Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Need a new timing Chain on my 2006 VW Passat 3.6 with
211,000 miles if it worth getting it fixed and how long
would it last

505

if I remember correctly manufacturer suggest timing belt replacement at 100,000 miles. so your due for one. if its done correctly, and by correctly I mean replacing all that is needed not just the timing belt itself. the tensioner for timing belt, the timing chains on cam shaft along with the chain tensioners, and the chains. if you get those replaced as well or do it yourself, then it should last you another 100,000 miles give or take. if you like your then putting another $250-300 DIY or $1000-1200 mechanic into the car will be worth it. besides that it will increase the value enough for resale or trade-in allowance
