is it worth buying an Acura TL 2006 with 118k mileage for around USD 5k?

If it is nice shape and checked out mechanically before you buy it.
Acura is a good vehicle. My Niece's Husband had one for many years and got over 200,000 miles out of it. Do your homework and get a vehicle history report such as Carfax. Also, as TDolby said have the vehicle checked out by a reputable mechanic to insure there's no mechanical problems that need attention. Little stuff is ok, but no big stuff. Hope that helps! Jim
It may need a timing belt which is a fairly pricey repair. Have it checked out as suggested above.
Thanks TDolby, Jim and Bob. I will check the vehicle with mechanic, however, can you suggest if the price (4500~5000 USD) is reasonable for the car given that it is in good condition. I have checked out the carfax history, shows it went through regular maintenance. Also, can you suggest me to look for which issues during the inspection by the mechanic shop? Thanks a lot!
You're welcome, glad to help. If the vehicle has a timing belt see if you can find out if it's been replaced. At the current age and miles of the vehicle it's due for replacement (every 6 years or 60,000 miles). Hope that helps! Jim
Look for a sticker under the hood indicating the belt has been changed. It should give the miles and date when the work was done.
