How much is my 2004 RX8 worth with a blown rotary engine?

Asked by Sandyfeet101 Mar 03, 2015 at 05:03 PM about the 2004 Mazda RX-8 RWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

We bought it June 2014 - didn't know it had compression problems until recently - now it's not running. We need to sell it and have no idea of the actual value or if we should part it out. Please advise..

If the engine is blown, you would do best to part it out... plenty of sites out there with guys looking for parts and you would make more pulling items and shipping than if you sell it for scrap weight... and anyone who tells you they will buy 'as-is' and do the work themselves will want to give you less than even the scrap weight because they are looking at you having to get out from under it...

Is it under warranty still? I'm pretty sure Mazda extended the warranty to 100,000 miles
