Noise on take off

Asked by Lupo_1122 Feb 16, 2017 at 01:14 AM about the 2006 Mazda MAZDASPEED6 Grand Touring 4dr Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced the engine in my 2006 Mazdaspeed
6, on take off I hear a sound like when growing up
we would clothes pin a piece of card board to the
front fork of a bicycle to get engine sound. The
speed increases with speed. After reaching a
certain its not heard---probably covered by wind
noise. The noise comes from the front of the
somewhere around the engine. Does anyone have
an idea what it is? Thanks.

Sounds like something caught around front pulleys, check to see if a cabletie or some thing is bent and touching the belt area, check alternator blades are not bent too, can happen when fitting an Angie, it's nothing serious .
