Needs Timing on a Audi 2006 A4

Buying a car, but the guy tells me that it
needs timing.  What exactly is that and is
the vehicle drivable for in the case a
purchase it I would know if I should drive it
or have it towed? Thanks

It might need a engine rebuild along with a new or rebuilt turbo and the timing belt ? Audi A4, requires lots of $ after 75,000 miles.
